American Augers MPR 6000 the latest Innovation in Mud Pumping and Cleaning Systems
West Salem, OH – The MPR 6000 is the latest portable innovation in drilling fluid pumping, cleaning, and mixing systems.
The MPR 6000 has the ability to Mix, Pump, and Provide large volumes of mud down hole for use with mud motors or large reamers. Overall, the fluid production capacity is 300 – 500 gallons per minute, so the MPR 6000 is a compliment to any jobsite utilizing a large directional drill, regardless of soil type or condition. Also, improvements in overall recycling and cleaning makes this unit a must have for all contractors who are working in areas where mud disposal is expensive or restrictive.
The MPR 6000 is mounted on a rock-over design tri-axle suspension. Standard unit is equipped with a Caterpillar® C-15 450 HP (336 kW) diesel engine, and a Caterpillar® (114 kW, 480V, 60 Hz) Generator Set. The mud pumping system is designed with Quintiplex Supercharged 5 x 6 pumps, with a 5 x 6 centrifugal pump for the bentonite mixer. The Cleaning System features: two linear motion shakers, nine 5” (127mm) desilting cones, and electric driven pumps for mixing, agitation, and charging of the hydro-clones.
Other Standard Features include: (2) fluid holding tanks (2000 gallon/7570 L, 4000 gallon/15,150 L), Wash Down System with 110 gallon (416 L) tank and 100 foot (30.5m) hose. General safety features include, anti-slip walkways with handrails, stairway/ladder with anti-slip treads, emergency shutdown switch on operators panel, and electrical ground stake with cable.

Available in sizes from 24 to 60 inches, the Auger Boring Disc Cutter Head is manufactured from high strength steel, which allows for increased durability, and is designed to allow for maximized performance when working in various geological formations, while withstanding the sever loading of mixed face conditions
The retractable cutter head allows for cutter change and service that can be accomplished outside of the heading. The cutter head is mounted to the casing to enhance overall cutter head stability, which allows for longer cutter life. The large diameter of the cutter head permits the head to retract from the face without moving the product casing.
Another benefit is that the 36 inch and larger cutter heads are equipped with power assisted steering jacks to give the operator a sense of comfort in making steering corrections with ease. The 24 inch cutter head is manufactured with mechanically actuated jacks that provide like steering results. The Hex Adapter fits any size or brand of auger boring machine with 3”, 4”, and 5” Hex. In terms of spoils removal the cutter head provides a greater area for quick removal and passage of spoils from the face, which increases cutter life by not allowing cutters to roll over in spoils.
